The challenge

FHH's aging, on-premises web-hosting infrastructure needed modernizing, and the deadline was non-negotiable: its previous hosting provider was shutting down all servers, forcing a full migration in under three months. Every application had to be isolated on its own server per FHH's technology requirements, resulting in over 60 virtual servers to migrate and manage, with legacy applications to upgrade and zero tolerance for data corruption.

What Amaris did

Amaris designed a fully secured, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using an Infrastructure-as-Code approach with Terraform, Packer and Ansible, producing infrastructure that is declarative, immutable, idempotent and reproducible. CI/CD pipelines linking GitLab with Terraform Atlantis let the team provision staging and development environments identical to production in minutes, and let FHH scale infrastructure up for its many events and back down afterward.
